Look at all the beautiful hippies!

20130204-231504.jpg

I love the 60s. I wasn’t born until 1981 but I’m pretty sure I was a hippie in my past life that probably died from an acid overdose. The only thing that sucks about the 60s is the quality of most photographs from that time. If it was in a magazine, it probably looks like garbage now.

Regardless, even blurry pictures of Micky Dolenz are great because we can still feel his essence and even if we can’t see the details of his face, we just KNOW it’s sexy.

A Monkees Christmas!

The Monkees want to share their Christmas joy with YOU! While the holidays can be a time for peace and love, there are a lot of people around the world who are in pain.

20121214-122111.jpg

My Christmas wish is that all of you find peace this holiday season! Remember that the one true way to get in the spirit of Christmas is by helping others. I’m not saying you have to give away money. It’s as simple as giving someone a hug!

So to all of you Micky freaks, I want you to go out there and if you see someone who looks like they need a little love, please share it with them!

The best gifts are always the simplest. ;)

The Monkees 2012 Tour Photos – Buffalo, NY

Here they are, folks! We were nothing but lucky to have front row tickets to The Monkees tour in Buffalo, NY on November 18, 2012.

There are truly no words to describe the experience other than to say it was a dream come true. I met some people that will be my friends for life and we shared the night and memories together.

It was magical. I’ve seen Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork a dozen times or more but this was my first time ever seeing Mike Nesmith live. Can I just say, WOW?!?

Their backing band was amazing and filled with ridiculous talent including Christian Nesmith (Mike’s son!), Rich Dart, John Billings, Aviva Maloney, David Alexander, Wayne Avers and Coco Dolenz (Micky’s sister). All these folks have been with The Monkees in one form or another for many years. It made the celebration even sweeter!

Now, without further delay, here are the pictures we took in Buffalo!! Feel free to share them!

Jealous.

Jealousy is bad. We shouldn’t be jealous of one another, especially when it comes to Micky Dolenz.

But I’m not perfect and I’m not gonna lie. Looking at all the pictures people posted on Facebook this week of Micky in NYC performing at BB King’s and the “Remember” CD signing party make me feel like THIS:

20121021-133151.jpg

I know I should just be happy that so many of you got to enjoy these events, and I truly AM happy for you all… but I’m also just so f*cking jealous.

I can’t be the only one…

Micky Dolenz Shirtless Pictures!

I’m such a good little Micky Dolenz blog writer. I know what you perverts want and I supply it.

20121004-153223.jpg

That’s right, Micky Dolenz shirtless pictures! It’s why we’re all here. And let’s face it, Davy Jones without a shirt is not so shabby either.

20121004-153421.jpg
You know, one time I went to see Micky Dolenz on tour with Peter Noone and even though my ex-boyfriend took ALL my pictures from Micky and Monkees concerts we’d gone to, I still remember Micky’s nipples pressed against his shiny, flowy shirt. Yes, I was 20 years old and a rampant pervert.

Even though after we broke up my ex stole the pictures and to this day refuses to give them back (this is before the days of digital cameras), he can’t take away my memories of Micky Dolenz’s nipples.

Now I run a website and can have as many pictures of Micky as I want. I don’t have to just remember Micky’s nipples, I can look at them anytime I want!

Booya! I win! ;)

Ok, now back to the nudity.

20121004-154338.jpg

You’re welcome.

Micky and Davy

20121004-151810.jpg

Micky Dolenz shares:

“He was always the go-to guy for fun and a laugh. He was a jokester and always was. We hung out a lot together. I remember very clearly. We had similar backgrounds…. Even in the earlier auditions I remember we kind of connected because I’d been in show business as a kid. He’d been on stage doing ‘Oliver!’ So we had that kind of connection in common, so immediately we just kind of hit it off and stayed very good friends.”

So sweet. :)

That Was Then… This Is Now

20121002-111258.jpg

Let’s face it guys. 2012 has been an INSANE year for The Monkees. I was looking at pictures I posted just a year ago and I was talking about Davy in the present tense.

Now (in the literal sense), Davy Jones is a part of history. I miss him. But mostly I’m just glad we had him. Imagine if he had stayed a professional jockey and never joined The Monkees? We have so much to be thankful for. Fate did its job and brought the four perfect guys together.

The lyrics to “That Was Then, This Is Now” mean even more to me…

You always say you like my style.
You say I’m tough and kind of wild.
Am I too much for you to tame?
I swear this time it’s not a game.

I’ve known a lot of girls.
No, this I won’t deny.
I’ll give our love,
I’ll give it more than a try.

That was then, (that was then) this is now.
Let me prove my love girl, I’ll make you proud.
I never made (never made) this kind of vow.
That was then, this is now

I’ve led a thousand lives it seems.
And there’s been a lot of broken dreams.
My mind’s just swept love aside.
But you broke me down and put me wise.

I’ve doubted all compassion,
But you showed me the door.
I can’t doubt it,
I don’t doubt it no more.

That was then, (that was then) this is now.
Let me prove my love girl, I’ll make you proud.
I never made (never made) this kind of vow.
That was then, this is now.

I’ve known a lot of girls.
No, this I won’t deny.
I’ll give our love,
I’ll give it more than a try.

That was then, (that was then) this is now.
Let me prove my love girl, I’ll make you proud.
I never made (never made) this kind of vow.
That was then, this is now.

That was then, this is now.
That was then, this is now.

That song was always so important to me while I grew as a Monkees fan. It really could be their life soundtrack song.

So it begs the question. This is now. What now???

Micky has a new album and Mike Nesmith and Peter Tork are putting aside 45 years of brotherly strife for what??

US!! They are doing it for US, the fans. We have weathered many storms together and this tour feels like a genuine thank you from the boys.

For those of us who weren’t even born when The Monkees hit the air, we may never fully understand Monkee mania the way you original fans do.

But Monkee mania 2012 is alive and strong!! I hope and pray that the fans can put aside our differences (just like our boys are doing right now) and show that we want an official reunion!

Forever! Can you imagine if they recorded a new album?? The possibilities are endless, my friends!

So, that WAS then… THIS IS NOW!! It’s not 1966 or 1986. We have evolved and so have The Monkees.

I personally can’t wait to see the future of these guys who have brought us so much joy!

We LOVE The Monkees! :)
