It’s Micky Dolenz‘s 67th birthday today!!!! It’s also International Women’s Day and I don’t know about you but those two things together make perfect sense. Micky makes me feel like a woman EVERY day but today we can celebrate him for pleasing women around the world for the past 67 years! Ok, maybe he wasn’t pleasing women as a baby but you know what I mean.
After the Monkees were finished in 1969, Micky went on to direct film and television in the UK, make art, study architecture, singing solo, singing with Davy Jones, singing with Davy Jones, Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart… oh, and he also had FOUR beautiful daughters in that time! Amy, Charlotte, Georgia and Emily… stunning girls with hearts of gold, just like their father!!
(from L to R – Georgia, Amy, Micky, Emily and Charlotte)
In the 1980s, Micky and the boys (Peter Tork, Davy Jones and Mike Nesmith) reunited and went on a sold out tour around the world. Monkeemania was reborn!! Though if you ask any die hard Monkee fan, they’ll tell you Monkeemania has never died!!
Fast forward to the 1990s and yet another Monkees reunion! This time the boys wrote and recorded the album JustUs and did a movie for ABC called “Hey, Hey, It’s The Monkees!” about what life would be like if the Monkees were still living in the Monkee pad! Micky was obviously the star of the show, as always. 😉 Of course I, the owner of a website called ILoveMickyDolenz.com would say that!!
Over the last 15 years, Micky has stayed a very busy man. With performances on Broadway, an album of Carole King covers and TV shows like CMT’s Gone Country, Micky has made an even bigger name for himself in the entertainment industry. He’s a veteran and he is THE BEST.
Micky is now married to some ex-flight attendant named Donna but is secretly in love with me, Jacqueline Boyd (pictured below).
Micky Dolenz’s future is bright. Despite losing his best pal Davy Jones recently, I have no doubt Micky will just continue to get more and more successful. As a solo artist, part of a band or part of musical theatre, Micky rules them all!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICKY!
We love you and can’t wait to see what the next 67 years will bring…..
